Twenty-one year old Lorde performed a cover of St. Vincent’s “New York” alongside Jack Antonoff. The powerful ballad proclaims that “New York isn’t New York without you, love,” and Lorde tweeted the lyrics “you’re the only mother fucker in the city who can handle me” last year.
That tweet caused fans to call for a Lorde and St. Vincent collaboration, but these fans are left to settle with a collaboration between Lorde and Jack Antonoff, St. Vincent’s co-writer and Lorde’s close personal friend. The two shared a memorable live performance of “New York” at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
Antoff took to the New York stage with an acoustic guitar while Lorde sings the angsty ballad before transitioning into Lorde’s “Hard Feelings.” The performance is raw and simple with the two sitting cross-legged on the stage, facing one another. Lorde wears a dress and Antoff wears a hoodie and cap, the epitome of closeness. Their performance exemplifies the beauty of the song’s lyrics, and it gives fans something to cling to.
The New Zealand teen rocketed to relative stardom with the 2013 release of her hit “Royals,” but Lord took a small hiatus after her first album, Pure Heroine, and before her second album, Melodrama. Now, she continues to perform across the nation, impressing her fans and exciting their imaginations.
This cover isn’t the first of Lorde’s – Lorde tends to incorporate covers into her sets, affording her the nickname “Queen of Covers.” In fact, during live performances, Lorde has covered songs by Drake, Kanye West, Frank Ocean, and Paul Simon.
Listen to the performance here.

The world is much more complicated than it seems, and it’s good to know that we have companies and groups today that try to make things less complicated and more solutions-oriented. One of the few companies today that have the superior dedication to solving urgent problems in the world is Stream Cares.
The Patch Feature
In a feature from Patch.com, we read that the Dallas-based Stream Energy has so far created one of the most active, engaging and influential philanthropy work today that helps people affected by the Hurricane Harvey to get the recovery that they need. The Stream Cares Foundation is also able to make sure that the help they give is not just for those who need food and supplies. They’re also zeroing in on those who are now rendered homeless because of such tragedy.
Partnership With Hope Supply Co.
Through our partnership with @hopesupplyco.dfw Stream donated more than 300 toys and gifts to homeless children in the DFW metroplex. A big’ thank you’ to our Stream employees who volunteered their time at Hope Supply Co. by sorting and wrapping toys and gifts. Tis the season to spread hope and cheer!
This project would not have been possible without also the support of the Hope Supply Co. With such assistance, it’s easy to find the right solutions for Dallas to cope with the kind of homelessness that the hurricane has brought upon the state. With Stream Energy’s help, the people in Houston who have been affected by the 56-inch-deep of rain all over Houston neighborhoods would get the kind of assistance that they need to recover. There’s a lot needed to be done to make sure that the people helplessly washed out by the storm can get the sustenance that they need, and it’s good to know that Stream Energy is there to offer the most that they can do to alleviate the people’s concerns.
Philanthropy is a tricky job to implement since it’s not that easy to help without being judged of doing so for virtue merchandising. However, what makes Stream Energy different is the fact is that it does this without the need for announcing it and without the requirement for those that they help to know that it was them who helped their concerns. Stream Energy’s philanthropy work for Stream Cares is indeed one of the few things in life that make you inspired to help, and it’s a good thing that we have more social groups like this today.
For fans of early nineties indie and alternative, there is not a lot of room for building excitement from “New Music from Kim Deal.” However, when you add that said new music is written and recorded with her beloved side-project The Breeders, the bands first release in 10 years, the excitement builds. Then when you add that the release was written and recorded by the bands original lineup, who last appeared on album together 20 years ago and are the group responsible for the legendary album Last Splash including the slide hook driven hit Cannonball, you have finally reached peak indie-freak-out level excitement.
All Nerve, the band’s fifth studio album, was released last month on 4AD. Though the band members are now all in their fifties with nearly three decades of adult life between the band’s formation and present day, the album sounds as energetic and urgent as if it had been released side by side with earlier albums Last Splash and Pod. The album’s first single Wait in the Car has been widely accepted as a return to form for the band since its early release last October.
Though The Breeders have had a reputation for clashing inter-band personalities and members past struggles with substance use, the band put all of these concerns behind them reuniting in 2013 to tour in support of the reissue of Last Splash. It was during this reunion that the band began to get interested in creating new music together. While few could have predicted it, this interest bloomed into a full-length album that sounds undeniably like classic Breeders while avoiding sounding stale, even featuring a collaboration with current indie-rock star Courtney Barnett.
The Breeders are currently touring in support of All Nerve and can be seen playing shows around the globe this spring.
Today, investment is a field that has come to the rescue of many. Many people around the globe have witnessed their income grow from zero to hundreds. However, not all live to celebrate the good story. A notable number have fallen victims of con advisors who approach them with convincing deals only to realize when it’s too late. The situation makes many people extra cautious to the point of making decisions without evaluating all the available facts. It’s for this scenario that most of the people in this category are likely to miss ‘Freedom Checks,’ the new kid in town. Read this article about Freedom Checks at Banyan Hill.
Not long ago, Matt Badiali, a celebrated investment expert released a video called ‘Freedom Checks’ that went viral but for the wrong reasons. The video received a lot of criticism from many who never bothered to dig on the facts. To answer the questions running through many people’s heads, I ought to dig Matt Badiali’s new tip and to begin with I must attest that the investment is legit.
In the video that attracted millions of views, Matt commenced by clarifying that freedom checks are not a government program such as Medicare, Social Security, IRA or 401 (k). Instead, he continued to state that they are much better as they are large over other programs. Besides, Freedom Checks have no age limitations as well as income limitations, and this sweetens the deal.
On taking a deep dive in the American’s legislative acts, you will realize that freedom checks enable a company to operate tax-free because of ‘Statute 26-F’. However, for these companies to enjoy the tax benefits, they must make sure that they generate 90 percent of their revenue from the production, processing, storage, as well as transportation oil and gas in the US. Also, they must agree to pay out freedom checks to stakeholders. Visit stockgumshoe.com to know more.
Although the name might sound unique, these investments were legalized by the 1987’s Congress, and only a few had a clear picture of what they are. Based on statistics, about 568 companies qualify to issue freedom checks and meet the Statute 26-F criteria. Matt Badiali is a respected geologist and realized this individual investment while working for a renowned financial expert that gave him the opportunity to move across the globe to meet mining leaders. It is during the project that Matt discovered that the MLPs fell under companies that can issue freedom checks.
To begin with, these companies primarily focus on the production, storage, as well as transportation of oil and gas. Besides, the MLPs spend about 90 percent of their income to pay investors, the payments that Matt term as freedom checks. In this case, the payments are viewed as a return on capital hence investors don’t need to pay taxes on them. Besides, the sale of MLP investment is taxed lower as compared to personal income rates which mean financial freedom to investors. According to Matt, it is the high time people invested in freedom checks for economic gains in the long run. Check: https://affiliatedork.com/matt-badialis-freedom-checks-real

Sights and Sages, a band in San Diego, is now an independent alternative rock band after being a ska group.
In 2017, they competed in a battle of the bands called the 91X contest. The judges were the band called Switchbox and they picked Sights and Sage as the winners. This event raised money for a non-profit.
Jay Sanchioli, a bassist for Sights and Sages, believed that his band was very excited about the win because we were able to do better than the other bands in the contest. He does not think that they are actually better than other bands. It was good that they were selected by Switchfoot. It was a really, really good feeling.
Soon after releasing a seven-song album called doubleplus, they were one of the nominations for Best New Artist and Best Indie/Alternative Album for the 2018 San Diego Music Awards. The awards ceremony was at the House of Blues on March 19th. They ended not winning, but they were just ecstatic to be nominated.
Sanchioli feels that it would have been cool to win, but we were not really worked up about it.
This band was originally a ska group, but as they added members, they eventually became a rock band that was deeply influenced by the 1980s.
Some of the musical influences of the band are Nine Inch Nails, Beck, Gorillaz, Radiohead, Depeche Mode, The Cure and Blur. The composers that they like are Danny Elfman and John Williams. Members of this band want to be like their influences and become inspirations for future generations of musicians.
Christian Clark, guitarist, and vocalist, believes that when he was a kid, he was very awed that some people could actually create something really beautiful. It meant a lot to people. He wants to have the same impact as his influences.
The latest addition to the group is Sebastian Rizo. He actually joined the group after being their audio engineer for the group’s first album. He enjoyed their sound so much that he decided to become part of the group.
Sights and Sages is an up-and-coming group that seems to be going in a good direction.

Popular indie rocker Jack White just released a new song, only a few days before the release of his new album.
Music critics are calling White’s new song, which in entitled “Ice Station Zebra,” both adventurous and funky. It was a preview of White’s highly anticipated new album that was released on March 23. The album is called Boarding House Reach.
“Ice Station Zebra” is apparently named after an espionage novel published in 1963, which subsequently became a movie 5 years later. The song crosses many different musical genres, including experimental and funk, during the course of the 4-minute song.
“Ice Station Zebra” is not the first track released from Boarding House Reach. White has so far released from the album the singles “Over and Over and Over,” “Corporation,” “Respect Commander” and “Connected By Love.”
To promote the new album, White will be doing a two-part radio interview with Metallica’s Lars Ulrich that will be broadcast on March 25 and April 1 on the It’s Electric Beats 1 radio show. He is also right now on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine, and it was just announced that he will be the headline performer at the upcoming Lollapalooza Music Festival.
