Pale Waves New PV For “My Obsession” Was Released

The English indie pop band Pale Waves just released their new promotional music video called “My Obsession” and it creepily captivated their fans in a good way. Heather Baron-Gracie, the band’s front-woman, said in a recent interview that she basically wanted to create an “uncomfortable, voyeuristic experience for the viewer.” Heather goes on to explain that it’s for the viewers to make themselves feel that they are somehow intruding upon a place that they shouldn’t even be a part of. It is “ultimately a representation of desperation, loneliness and grief.”

The music video was directed by Stephen Agnew, an English director and creative lead. It starts off with a pajama-clad Heather with her signature goth-esque pallor, canoodling with a bald mannequin inside her quaint apartment. The song itself is quite charming with its dreampop sounds, soft guitar riffs and the hook is pretty catchy too, as one would expect from an indie pop act. The song “My Obsession” is now available for purchase. This will be Pale Waves fourth single released and was announced that it will be part of the band’s debut EP called, “New Year’s Eve.” Their EP is expected to be released sometime early within the next year.

Pale Waves was formally known as Creek, they formed in 2014 when bandmates Heather Baron-Gracie and Ciara Doran met while they were still enrolled in Manchester University. The band signed to the label Dirty Hit Records and toured with The 1975 band across Europe and North America. Former bandmates, Ryan Marsden and Ben Bateman departed alomst as soon as they formed, they were quickly replaced by second guitarist Hugo Silvani and bassist Charlie Wood.
